Film Screening — Palyanytsia (2025)

To mark four years since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, we invite you to a screening of the documentary Palianytsia—a film that examines not only a country at war, but the act of seeing the war through art.

Palianytsia (Aerosol Arsenal Films, 2025) is an exploration of the wartime landscape through the eyes of two American street artists, Bandit and Jonny. Accustomed to seeing their work as gestures of freedom and defiance, they undertake a journey in search of understanding. Their passage through Ukraine unfolds as a series of lived, unsettling experiences that demand reflection and an inner reckoning.

We are organising this screening as part of the Culture vs War International Film Marathon, in cooperation with the “Watch Ukrainian!” Association and the NGO Territory of Participation.

Palianytsia (Aerosol Arsenal Films, 2025) verkent het oorlogslandschap door de ogen van twee Amerikaanse streetart‑kunstenaars, Bandit en Jonny. Gewend om hun werk te zien als gebaren van vrijheid en verzet, ondernemen zij een reis op zoek naar begrip. Hun tocht door Oekraïne ontvouwt zich als een reeks intense, ontregelende ervaringen die dwingen tot reflectie en innerlijke confrontatie.

Wij organiseren deze vertoning in het kader van de Culture vs War International Film Marathon, in samenwerking met de vereniging Watch Ukrainian! en de NGO Territory of Participation.
