At a Death Cafe, people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink a warm beverage, and discuss death. It is a not-for-profit event centered around a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. This means that it's an open group discussion that anyone can join, rather than a grief support or counseling session. Death Cafes create an open, respectful, and confidential space where you can listen to others and share your views safely.

Death Cafe was founded by Jon Underwood in 2010 and is based on the work of Bernard Crettaz. Since 2011, more than 23,690 Death Cafes have been offered in 97 different countries. The aim of these cafes is to increase the awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. Read more about the concept at deathcafe.com (link is external).

Participation is free of charge, but please register as we limit the size of the group to enable a meaningful conversation.

Note: everybody is welcome and you really don't have to be a native English speaker to participate, just know that the conversation will take place in English.
