Ebru Torün was onderzoeker aan de KU Leuven en is nu verbonden aan het British Museum. Zij geeft een lezing over haar huidige onderzoek.

The Sumerian site of Girsu in southern Iraq has been the focus of an interdisciplinary archaeological research, training and heritage management programme since 2017.

The goal is to collaboratively develop a sustainable strategy for the broader Girsu landscape, considering the complex contemporary context.

This LARS lecture focuses on emergency interventions to preserve the Sumerian architectural heritage at Girsu, particularly the ‘enigmatic’ hydraulic structure tentatively named the Girsu Bridge.
